Sad News, Brother Edward Conroy has passed

I am sorry to have to report that Ed Conroy, who has been sick for some time,  passed away this week.

Ed was a Colonial, Shubert and Caldweld usher. 
He will be missed.

Edward M. “Eddie” Conroy, age 69, of South Boston and Provincetown and formerly of Boston’s South End died peacefully, Sunday, January 18, 2015 at the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center in Roslindale, surrounded by his loving family. 

Eddie was born in Middletown, Connecticut, raised and educated there and was a graduate of Middletown High School, Class of 1963.  He was a Vietnam Era veteran having served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Ingraham DD 694. Following his military service, Eddie attended Middlesex Community College and later graduated from Central Connecticut State College, Class of 1973.
He had lived in Boston for forty years, predominately in the South End and most recently in South Boston.  He was also a resident of Provincetown for seventeen years.
Eddie was employed as a sales representative in the airline industry for over thirty years working for the former Sabena Airlines and later for Northwest Airlines.  After retirement, he thoroughly enjoyed working in the theater industry as an usher with the Huntington Theatre Company and the SpeakEasy Stage Company. He also worked at the Opera House and various other theaters in Boston.
Beloved husband for thirty-seven years of Frank J. Pantano.
Devoted son of the late Vincent E. and Helen T. (Piasecki) Conroy.
Dear brother of Elizabeth Unikewicz of Middletown, CT, Robert Conroy of New Britain, CT, the late Timothy Conroy and his wife Doreen of Higganum, CT.  Eddie is survived by several nieces and nephews and many extended relatives and friends.  
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saint Cecilia’s Church, 18 Belvidere Street, Boston’s Back Bay on Thursday, Jan. 22nd at 10 o’clock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours at Saint Cecilia’s Church on Wednesday from 4 – 8 p.m. Interment with Military Honors to follow at Mount Wollaston Cemetery in Quincy. Validated parking available at the Hilton Hotel next to Saint Cecilia’s Church.
