Sad News - Sister Claire Aspen-Sullivan has passed
Posted On: Aug 21, 2021

Claire Aspen-Sullivan

A former Wang Usher of many years. Of South Boston passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on Friday, August 13, 2021 A self-proclaimed 'professional patient', Claire battled emphysema and Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Immunodeficiency for most of her adult life prior to receiving a double lung transplant in September of 2000. The transplant blessed the world with another 21 years of Claire, which to her delight allowed her to see her children graduate college, get married and start families of their own. She took full advantage of the second chance that her transplant provided her; living a full life in perpetual motion, always eager for the next trip or night out, knowing that she was living on borrowed time and determined to make the most of it. Claire was a friend to all and her sense of humor, outgoing personality and hysterical flair for storytelling left an impression on everyone who has had the pleasure to meet her. She will live on via the countless memories that she has co-authored as a friend, wife, mother and grandmother. As she always said, 'Who loves ya, baby!?!'. Claire is survived by her husband of 46 years, Clifton Sullivan of South Boston; her son David Sullivan of Braintree, along with his wife Tracey Sullivan and their children Taylor, Thomas, Theodore and Taryn; and her daughter Kathleen Choquette of East Bridgewater, her husband Jason Choquette and their children Fiona and Zachary. The family offers profound thanks to the medical staff of Mass General Hospital for their excellent care over the past years and ask that in lieu of flowers please consider a donation to New England Donor Services (https://neds.org/). Visitation in the O'Brien Funeral Home 146  Dorchester St. SOUTH BOSTON on Thursday, August 19th from 4 - 8 pm. Funeral Mass on Friday, August 20th in Gate of Heaven Church 615 East Fourth Street South Boston at 10am Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment Private
